Muere padre de Gary Holt, guitarrista de Slayer

El guitarrista lo anunció con un comunicado en su cuenta oficial de Instagram.

El guitarrista de Slayer, Gary Holt, ha revelado mediante su cuenta de Instagram que el día de hoy dejó este mundo su padre, Billie Charles Holt. Puedes leer el comunicado completo al final del post.


Como recordamos, Gary se alejó de la gira de despedida de la banda por Europa para estar con su padre, quien se encontraba en esos momentos en un estado crítico de salud. 

«Mi padre está muy cerca del final de su viaje», escribió. «He estado tocando estos últimos shows con el corazón más pesado. Y con ese corazón tan fuerte tengo que anunciar que me voy de la gira europea de Slayer. Debo regresar a casa para ayudar a cuidar a mi padre en sus últimos momentos».

Phil Demmel, quien recientemente tocó su último concierto con Machine Head, ha sido nombrado como el suplente de Holt para el resto de la gira. Hará su debut en vivo con la banda el lunes 3 de diciembre en Dinamarca.

Today I lost my hero, the greatest man I’ve ever known or will know. Billie Charles Holt passed away this evening, with my mom and all his kids present, knowing he was loved and respected more than anyone. This man was a god among men, he taught me everything I ever needed to know about being a MAN. Lessons that took a long time for me to realize the truth behind them all.He built the family home by hand and paved the sidewalk of my street when it was just dirt. True greatness.I fed him his last meal, he wanted to rest, and passed in his sleep later.I love you dad. I’m broken. What feels like beyond repair at this moment. But he’s no longer in pain.
